Group accommodation on our UK tours is based on 3* & (in the case of Bosworth Hall) 4* hotels. Ideal for Veteran & Ex-Services Associations, professional groups, historical & literary associations or similar groups. The accommodation featured below includes selected hotels for our seven UK tours from Hexham in the north to Portsmouth on the south coast.
Hadrian’s Wall: Accommodation
3* Beaumont Hotel, Hexham: The Beaumont is a family-run hotel located in the town centre overlooking a park & within a couple of minutes’ walk from Hexham’s 7th century abbey. The hotel is ideally suited as a base for visiting Hadrian’s Wall with the nearest significant location being Chesters Roman Fort ten miles to the north.
Convenient for: Vindolanda & Roman Army Museum (25 minutes by coach), Housesteads (25 minutes), Walltown Crags (30 minutes), Segedunum (45 minutes) & Arbeia Roman Fort (60 minutes).

Battle of Hastings: Accommodation
3* York House Hotel, Eastbourne: This elegant hotel overlooks the seafront & is within half-a-mile of Eastbourne Pier. The town centre can be reached on foot in ten minutes. The 19th century Redoubt Fortress & Military Museum is less than 200 yards away. Beachy Head is also nearby, being only three miles from the hotel.
Convenient for: Pevensey Bay & Castle (15 minutes by coach), Hastings battle site & Battle Abbey (25 minutes), Hastings Castle (30 minutes). As an alternative visit for Day 2, Arundel Castle is 70 minutes drive by coach.

Battle of Bosworth: Accommodation
4* Bosworth Hall Hotel & Spa: Built in the 17th century, this former mansion house is set in 11 acres of grounds & is a Grade II listed building. Market Bosworth is three-quarters of a mile away & takes approximately 20-25 minutes to reach on foot. Guests at the hotel have access to Spindles Health & Leisure Club – including the indoor swimming pool & spa – at reduced rates. The grounds also provide the opportunity for a leisurely stroll.
Convenient for: Bosworth Battlefield & Heritage Centre (10 minutes by coach), Leicester Cathedral & Richard III’s Tomb (35 minutes).

Convenient for: Liverpool Waterfront, Maritime Museum & Albert Dock (5 minutes by coach), Western Approaches Museum (10 minutes), U-boat Story in Birkenhead (15 minutes via the Mersey Tunnel or 30 minutes on the hour via Mersey Ferry), IWM North (30 minutes), Stockport Air Raid Shelters (40 minutes)

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard & Tank Museum Bovington: Accommodation
3* Royal Beach Hotel, Portsmouth: The Royal Beach hotel has recently been refurbished to a high standard. Situated on the seafront at Southsea, looking out over the Solent, the hotel has welcomed guests since 1866 & still retains the elegance of a bygone age.
Convenient for: Portsmouth Historic Dockyard (15 minutes by coach), Southsea Castle & D-Day Museum (5 minutes).
Further away: Tank Museum, Bovington (1 hour, 45 minutes by coach). Worth the journey to combine two great destinations on one tour.
