Normandy Landings 75th Anniversary tours

On the night of 5th June, 1944 a mighty Anglo-American naval armada set out for the coast of France. Preceded by a huge Bomber effort and airborne landings on the flanks of the invasion area at the Pegasus and Orne Bridges and around Ste Mère Église, the vast fleet assembled off the coast of Normandy. Shortly before dawn on the 6th June, Allied battleships and cruisers began the bombardment of targets along the shoreline in preparation for an assault on five landing beaches by Allied troops. Operation Overlord, the greatest sea-borne invasion in history, had begun.
